It's the new year and there's been a few podiums over the festive break and an epic challenge of Everest proportions!
Off Road
Since our last website post our riders were back at the Gorrick Brass Monkeys today and the team had an epic 5 first place finishes, a few other podium finishes and some other great results. It's great to see our mountain bikers out in force supporting local events and coming home with some awesome results!
Amy-Jo Hansford - 1st female, 2hr race
Julia Hamlyn - 1st female, 4hr race
Roland Tilley - 1st grand vet, 3hr race
Tony Revell - 1st male, 3hr fat bike race
Sam Humphrey - 1st male vet, 4hr race
Ross Smith - 3rd male vet, 4hr race
Dani Humphrey - 5th female, 4hr race
Stuart King - 6th Vet, 4hr race
Carol Tilley - 13th female, 2hr race
Also, just before Christmas, Andrew Smith and Simon Lesser had some very strong performances at the Trail X off road duathlon with 7th home for Andrew and 10th for Simon.

Keeping things festive, Naomi Shinkins dusted of her elf suit (and short course legs) to burn off the Christmas day turkey at the New Forest CC Boxing Day 10. Naomi was 2nd female here last year and claimed 1st female this year despite the horrendous conditions, which meant the race was reduced to 2 miles due to standing water on the course. Road
Finally a big chapeau to Alan Colville, who before Christmas took on the Everesting challenge (riding 8,848m ascent on a hill of your choice!). In true Alan style he decided to do it on the notoriously tough Tumble climb in Wales with a max gradient of 15% and a distance of 5.1km - that's 23 times up and down with some wet and windy conditions as well!
