It was a big weekend of racing on and off road but it was the Bournemouth Cycleworks RT ladies that stole the show at the Southern XC with two wins and a 3rd place podium at the event.

Off Road

First up is the Southern XC event on Sunday and the team was well represented with many riders in various categories. But it was our female riders who provided the top results of the day with a win for Kate Bowers in the female elite category, a win for Julia Hamlyn in the female vet category and Dani Humphrey topping out the podium in the same category with 3rd.  Well done ladies for showing us how it is done! Also well done to Roland Tilley and Stuart King for their 3rd place in their categories and Tony Revell for his win on the dirty hot lap the day before the main event. Full results for the team were:

Elite - Kate Bowers 1st, Tony Revell 4th

Expert - Jon Clemas 9th

Vet - Julia Hamlyn 1st, Staurt King 3rd, Ross Smith 6th, Andrew Smith 17th, Simon Lesser 33rd, Stu Domay 42nd

Grand vets - Roland Tilley 3rd, Carol Tilley 4th, Richard Irvine 6th, Barry White 9th, Steve Moors 14th

Road

On Tuesday Phil Cole was 5th in the CC Weymouth 10 mile TT and on Thursday it was round 2 of the Moreton race series. The team were well represented again. Despite a bravely attempted solo break from Zak Snell on the finishing straight it was Phil Cole who had the best finish with 3rd over the line. Other results were Jamie Whitcher 5th, Roland Tilley 9th, Zak Snell 13th, Gregg Meade 15th, Bob Ford 19th and Andy Whiteford 27th.

Bob Ford was also racing at the weekend at the Chailley LVRC road race and was runner up to a former world cyclo cross champion. This great result puts Bob in the lead in the LeCol/Arcadian series.

Jamie Witcher finished the Bournemouth Omnium in 4th place at the weekend. This with his previous results of 4th at Portsmouth and 2nd in Brighton gives him a top 4 finish in the Southern series, which qualifies him for the National Youth Omnium Final in Manchester in July. Chapeau Jamie!

All these great results are not possible without the fantastic support we get from our sponsors, Manuel Builders, Gibbs and Dandy Bournemouth, Hill & Son Ford Service, IW Price & Partners, AJN Electrical and in8 Creative Design. And of course our title sponsors Ford Civil Engineering, Vitec Ceilings and Partitions Ltd and Bournemouth Cycleworks, who provide many our riders top quality Trek speed machines and Bontrager equipment across all disciplines to race on.
